Gregory J. Artz MD 

founder and director of CI Specialists of West Michigan

Dr. Artz completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan where he majored in Military History and also was a 2-time letter winner on the varsity tennis team. He then went on to receive his MD from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck surgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Artz,  then had the honor of training as a fellow in Otology, Neurotology- Skull based surgery at the Michigan Ear Institute. This fellowship is where he learned advanced techniques in how to care for patients with complex hearing and balance disorders. After he completed his training he was an assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson University from 2008-2015. Dr. Artz joined our practice in July of 2015. He evaluates both adult and pediatric patients with a wide range of Otolaryngology and Neurotology concerns. His specialties include surgery for cochlear implantation, implantation hearing aids, chronic ear infections and skull base tumors.

He is currently a partner at Grand Rapids Ear, Nose and Throat. He is a member of the Spectrum Hospital Cochlear Implant Program and is the Director of Vestibular Testing at Mary Free Bed.
